Secretary General of the European Health Telematics Association EHTEL
What do you expect from your participation in the congress ?
The EHTEL contribution to eCardio is serving the objective of the association to stimulate a multi-stakeholder dialogue with the public of eCardio. It is indeed of prime importance to provide access to the big picture of what is today called Digital Health and encompass tele/m/eHealth. Understanding this big picture is indeed far from being easy when we are intensively engaged in our day-to-day practice! What is that big picture? Digital Health is happening already and has the potential to meet the need of the society and the medical professions. More importantly, Digital Health as the potential to support or enable the necessary transformation of the health and care systems.
What type of professionals will you be most looking forward to meeting on site ?
By definition, EHTEL being a multi-stakeholder forum, we are looking forward meeting all professions. It is however clear to all that the medical profession is often still to be convinced of the whole potential of Digital Health. Hence we are more than happy to work for the success of eCardio.
According to you, what would most help eCardiology and eHealth to grow in the very near future ?
For eCardiology and eHealth to grow in the near future, we need leadership to drive the change and scale-up at local, regional or national level innovative services that exist already. Once more, this leadership needs to be multi-stakeholder, involving at least clinicians, managers, policy makers. And of course citizens and industry have a role to play in their respective domains.
